Green with Envy

I’ve got serious lunch envy for anyone who can pop into Greenleaf  Gourmet Chop Shop for lunch. I still haven’t been here but I keep meaning to go. I was just lusting after their yummy salads thinking how nice a crunchy fresh salad and a icy cold glass of white wine would be right about now. Then I remembered I am at work. Sad. No crunchy salads or cold chardonnay for me.

With a really creative assortment of specialty salads and dozens of ingredients to choose from should you want to build your own salad, the menu at Greenleaf really leaves no veggie unturned! Every chance they get they use local purveyors and suppliers but lucky for us  they don’t use local prices since they are in the heart of the Bev Hills “Golden Triangle” and might get away with charging $22.00 for a salad (ahem, La Scala.)  For about $12.00 you can do right by your food pyramid and for an extra $10 spot wash it all down with a glass of organic chardonnay.

Drats, my office is just outside of their eco-friendly bike messenger delivery service. But you may be in the green zone and then delivery is a freebie. If not, $5.00 gets it done (but be patient they can only peddle so fast and it’s dodgey work darting in and around all those starlets in Bentleys in Bev Hills.)

PS: How gorgeous is their shop? (Photo courtesy of Food GPS)   Which BTW is a blog I (heart) in a big way. I just saw they have some breaking LGO Santa Monica news. I can’t wait for Le Grande Orange to open on Main Street; rumor has it May 11th is the big day. I have been an LGO fan since way back in the day because my family lives in Phoenix, home of the original location.  Paisley Petunia will be LGO regulars now that they are in my neck of the woods. Anyway, that is a whole other Oprah.

This place is so close to my house! I’m so happy you’ve covered it as I haven’t yet tried it out. Between this and the new Cabbage Patch and M Cafe De Chaya, there’s all sorts of yummy organic places in Bev Hills.

  2. [...] me, a couple of these places in walking distance of my apartment just opened. In addition to the Greenleaf Gourmet Chop Shop that the lovely ladies of Paisley Petunia just reviewed, I’m so excited to try out The Cabbage Patch. It only opened a couple months ago and its Yelp [...]
